Lodz Jedynka

Łódź Jedynka is an independent shortwave radio station broadcasting on 4880 kHz in AM mode. The station primarily airs music during both daytime and nighttime, but it does not follow a fixed broadcasting schedule, making transmissions irregular. Its main transmitter is located on the outskirts of Łódź, Poland. The transmitter has a maximum output power of 100 kW, with an occupied bandwidth of approximately 12.5 kHz.

During the night of 6 July 2026 to 7 July 2026, the transmitter reportedly experienced a major technical failure. The transmitted signal exhibited severe splatter, a strong 50 Hz mains hum, and heavily overdriven audio, significantly degrading reception quality. The interference affected both the occupied bandwidth and the intelligibility of the broadcast, indicating a serious fault in the transmission chain.
